Sorry for being a few days late. You can contact EMC support and they have proactively replaced the best number of my anticipatory hard drives, but the software write errors exceeded a certain threshold over a period of time. If the public had 7 software recording errors 10 days ago and nothing, since these companies are likely to act, they won’t, but if you see a few errors every few hours, there will be more. fail higher than the hot spare and ship the correct new drive. As Steve said, FLARE will do it for someone too. If you look at the Navisphere logs, they will record flashy spelling mistakes and information about whether the person is getting over-the-top assistance on call.

I have already replaced the hard drives and there is a permanent error, do I still need to do something?

    SAN Error, Oh No!

The period started when I got e-mails about software support errors. I looked through the SPA and SPB event logs in Navisphere and saw the following:

Note that the error count is displayed as information, not as a warning or critical error. Yes, interpreting the array will not tell anyone that this disk is out of order. See also

Please note that in my environment almost all errors occur on the hard disk, bus 0, chassis 1, disk 7, 2TB NLSAS drive

Event codes contain 0x820, 0x6a0 and therefore 0x801 describing software support errors on blank disks, scsi software stream errors, and software support errors. I suggest filtering by likely description and looking for “.” run error “to find all messages.

Checking the disks in the Navisphere GUI usually shows that none of the disks were faulty, the corresponding dashboard did not show any errors, and no hot spares were implemented. This means that the bay hasn’t considered that the drive shouldn’t hit the walls yet.

It’s Time To Be Proactive …

I opened an example with EMC support and sent screenshots of the SP Wood and SPCollects event of both SPBs during SPB and found that the error often occurs the same Not 100 times a day on the same disc. I am proactively managing a copy of the writable rescue disc and have ordered an additional disc that was sent to me.

Look-ahead text is best as it copies data from one hard drive to another and finally tells the RAID to use the spare hard drive and then prevents the hard drive from failing by skipping the recovery process entirely and therefore not affecting recovery performance RAID. …

At first I tried unsuccessfully to copy my Navisphere GUI as shown below.

Please note that the copy option is inactive, usually disabled. Obviously the new VNX Mixed RAID with Pools doesn’t allow this option at this time, so I switched to the command line interface.

    Place order
Naviseccli -address -user -password -area 0 copytohotspare 0_1_7 -initiate
(where 0_1_7 is actually the failed hard drive) functioned correctly by running a forward copy of that failed hard drive into a hot spare of the same type.

Examine The Progress Of The Concrnew Forward Copy

The status of the hard disk is displayed as “Backup Copy (100%)”. Hmm, 100% does not look correct in the GUI, the “transition” state is confirmed without any progress indicators)

Well, that’s not quite right either. I kept thinking about SPCollect logs and SP event data and scoured all over the internet, including the EMC community forums, and that didn’t mean looking for answers. (Running getlun on the raid LUN theme through the CLI also showed no progress cues)

Update: I’ve Found A Way To Measure Progress, But Only One Item At A Time. See The Update As A Whole Below.

Finally, after 7:00 pm (NLSAS 2TB), the user’s process was terminated and event data 0x6b0, 0x604, 0x67d, 0x6a8, 0x67c, 0x7a7, 0x6ab0, combined with many others suggesting that the situation was faulty, was labeled the disk as faulty as expected.

To that end, I told CE EMC that you just need to call and think about replacing the pump. After replacing the disk, the matrix should simulate information about a hot and completely free spine. To replace a disk, mark the hot spare primarily because it is available again.

Update: It looks like the specific progress of sorting metrics in the lustat command is contained in the new SPCollect log. By running SPCollects over and over again, I can see the progress of copy-ahead and balancing on major disk swaps.

This information can be found in the SPCollect zip file, in the * _sus zip file, in the SPx_cfg_info.txt file. If I look at the EQZ percentage, I can roughly estimate when it will be finally ready, and more importantly, that balance or proactive breeding is progressing.

Update: Today I stumbled upon a terrific new EMC item that arguably has the order that is best for measuring progress. Never tried it myself.
